I am a Space Engineer with a doctoral degree in Space Robotics from Japan. My research expertise lies in the optimization of space exploration using smart robotics systems. I am currently working as an Assistant Professor at Tohoku University, leading a team to develop intelligent autonomous systems that can collaboratively work in an unknown environment with minimal human supervision. My research focuses on multi-modular robot coordination, perception and motion planning algorithms in unstructured challenging environments for exploration and resource utilization. My journey of exploring the vast cosmos began from the celestial pictures in an old encyclopedia. Ever since then I have passionately worked towards my vision to bring space closer to humankind.I have experience working with international and interdisciplinary teams to develop and design space systems, contributed towards space education and outreach in various capacities, and mentored space enthusiasts to get into the space sector. My dream is to create a holistic and safe ecosystem where space assets are accessible for benefits on Earth, in a sustainable manner. I strive to create a global community of space explorers through quality STEM Education and Research. I also co-founded Spaceport SARABHAI, India's first space policy thinktank which is a launchpad of ideas and innovation for a shared space future. I curate panels and dialogues to look at contemporary space activities through a space law and policy lens and operationalise the reforms required to transform India into a developed space economy.I believe in Dr. Carl Sagan, "The Cosmos is all that is or ever was or ever will be."Special skills: robotics, aerospace engineering, systems thinking, communication, organization, leadership, team spirit.
