Undergraduate Research Intern
Richardson, Texas, United States
As an undergraduate research intern for Dussor Lab, I researched the relationship between glucocorticoid levels and migraines using mice models. I did various lab tasks such as handling/habituating mice, baseline testing, stress-restraining mice, calculating grimace scores, performing trigeminal ganglia/dura/brain/spinal cord dissections, collecting blood samples, running ELISA tests, organizing lab data, and finding relevant papers for our lab. I also helped write our lab's Standard Operating Procedure. Working here allowed me to input some of my own neuroscience knowledge into a practical setting while also allowing me to explore more into treatments and prognosis of migraines.
