Handle student issues with respect and sensitivity.Biological Safety Officer- Perform safety training for staff and students, manage laboratory safety- Keep Biosafety Manual, laboratory procedures and signage up-to-date according to latest PHAC Biosafety guidelines.Practicum Coordinator- Establish solid connections with practicum sites throughout Ontario to co-ordinate practicum placements for students- Perform site visits to ensure preceptor and student satisfaction, and accreditation requirements- Manage practicum courses for studentsLaboratory Operations- Participate in Inventory management and ensure that the laboratory is equipped with adequate supplies.- Support the Educational Technologist to set up labs for students.- Key operator for various instruments (Vitros, XT350, BacTAlert, Vitek Compact 2, Beckman Coulter Access 2). Ensure maintenance schedule is maintained, SOPs are up to date and all staff are trained.

The effects of climate change are seen worldwide. Cities, with their infrastructure and dense population, are at higher risk of climate related risks. I worked on a research project which looked into finding strategies for building climate resilient cities. I was able to summarize my findings to recommend seven strategies. I formulated a report, and developed a webinar and fact sheet to communicate my findings for Healthbridge’s partners.
