I am an experienced banking services professional having worked across credit, markets, strategy and risk management. I started off my career in India post completing my MBA from SP Jain Institute of Management and Research and worked in ICICI Bank in the Corporate Banking team. I managed a portfolio of Large Corporates (Revenue > INR 5Bn) across gold refining, pharmaceutical, auto finance and non-banking financial services sectors and helped provide them Working Capital and Long term borrowing facilities. I did this by preparing financial models, credit appraisal notes and liaising with multiple teams such as legal, ALM, compliance, etc.I then decided to enter the word of markets and worked in Treasury FX sales with Kotak Mahindra Bank. I managed a portfolio of Multi National Corporations and Large Corporates and assisted them with hedging their FX exposures through derivatives such as forwards, swaps and options. An integral part of this role was working on desk, quoting rates and closing deals with clients. I also produced analytical reports be it through market commentary reports or larger thematic pieces. I then ventured into corporate finance in a start-up, Godrej Housing Finance Limited which was then a newly formed entity by the Godrej group to foray into the financial services segment. I used to work closely with the CFO and CEO. I was involved in financial, planning & analysis, market intelligence and business intelligence. In FPA, I built the Annual Operating Plan along with sensitivity analysis. I also prepared the costs budget variance tracker for different business units. As part of market intelligence, I would analyse peer performance by analysing financial statements and attending investor conference calls. As part of business intelligence, I built dashboards for teams to track KPIs and also prepared monthly loan book performance review decks. In 2022, I relocated to the UK and joined the Prudential Regulation Authority, Bank of England. I started off in building Societies supervision and now supervise new banks. My role is to understand the risks posed by the firms and design and execute supervisory strategies to mitigate the same and ensure financial stability. I use quantitative and qualitative techniques to analyse business models. I also perform a review of the firm’s ICAAP (capital) and ILAAP (liquidity) documents to set optimal regulatory requirements. As part of my role, I engage regularly with Executives and Non – Executives of firms.
