CurrentBand 5 Occupational therapy rotational position covering:Inpatient Acute Stroke Unit• Assessment of body structure and function• Seating assessments/postural support.• Assessment of transfers and mobility.• Tone management including; splinting,passive ranging, FES and exercises. • Cognitive rehabilitation sessions and strategies. • Using functional activities for rehabilitation of hemiplegia, neglect and cognition.• Access and home visits. • Equipment provision. Acute inpatient general medical/ care of the elderly• Assessment of mobility and transfers, personal care and domestic activities. • Cognitive assessments.• Discharge planning. • Telecare and memory aids.Integrated Community Response Service• Taking observations including, blood pressure, sugar levels and oxygen saturation levels. • Assessment of function and performance in the home environment. • Provision of emergency equipment.• Assessing for emergency packages of care. • Providing manual handling equipment and developing complex manual handling plans.• Developing rehabilitation programmes.Wheelchair, special seating and posture management services.• Initial assessments covering social and medical history, environment and life roles.• Physical measurements and postural assessments for seating.• Recommending and prescribing wheelchairs, cushions and postural support equipment.• Adjusting chairs and equipment to ensure appropriate support is provided.• Completing environmental assessments for power chair provision.• Completing 1:1 training for power chair drivers and designing a training programme.• Coordinating wheelchair skills training sessions for children.• Coordinating and presenting a one day course for external prescribers. • Service level audit.
