As Deputy Programme Manager I am responsible for over one thousand operations staff operating across some of the remote areas within Angola. I oversee the work of five demining units, ensuring operational safety and efficiency and accountable for delivery on over six HMA donor contracts.

The Angolan government has committed $60 million over five years, which will fund the clearance of 153 minefields situated within Kuando Kuabango province, Angola. The Government of Angola (GoA) project aims to clear some of the most complicated minefields that HALO has encountered over a wide geographic area.- Operations management of manual demining, mechanical and EOD across the GoA area of operations - currently focused on Cuito Cuanavale and Mavinga- Supporting the GoA Project Manager on all aspects relating to clearance operations and leading a team of 800+ - Daily field visits to conduct quality assurance, risk assessments and direct planning- Managing research and development projects with the aim of providing innovative ideas to improve the safety and efficiency of clearance operations- Advising on the application of drone technology (LiDAR, RGB and thermal) in support of clearance and non-technical survey operations- Coordinating the work of senior operations staff in pursuit of project objectives

Seconded to support operations and survey management of HALO's Nagorno Karabakh programme.

• Daily management of all clearance operations, including mechanical, BAC and EOD tasks. Conducted single item and bulk demolitions of items recovered from clearance and handover operations.• Led on redrafting of standard operating procedures and ensuring operational and safety compliance.• Conducted EOD trials and produced reports.• Supported the PM on wide ranging programme management tasks, including risk assessments, team planning and deployment, safeguarding, budget monitoring and procurement. • Worked alongside the PO on all aspects of donor management (CSSF, Swiss, Norway & EU), including reporting and M&E. Hosted donor and high level visits to programme and supported fundraising efforts. • Supported the design and roll out of the programme’s ongoing COVID response across the territory, liaised with the WHO and other actors to avoid duplicating efforts and ensuring that the project reaches the most vulnerable communities.

• Successfully completed all aspects of HALO operational training, including IMAS EOD Level 1 and 3 courses.

Forward Thinking is a NGO operating in the Middle East, North Africa and UK. It focuses on engaging groups who have been marginalised from negotiations in the belief that only though inclusive dialogue will sustainable solutions be found. Completed a short-term contract with a focus on project delivery, analytical report writing, stakeholder management and operations.Delivered workshops across Israel, the West Bank and Gaza in pursuance of programme goals, engaging with youth and women’s groups, mid-level political actors and civil society representatives. Led on drafting grant applications and oversaw project operations for the Middle East programme.

ISLP-UK engages skilled and experienced lawyers in pro bono projects around the world to promote human rights, sustainable and equitable economic development and the rule of law. Their mission is to assist governments, non-governmental organisations and other institutions working to build legal capacity and to advance the rights and well-being of their citizens. As a Legal Intern I took on pieces of research to aid ISLP-UK in their current and prospective international projects. Research areas included law and development, international criminal law, improving legal training and advocacy and human rights law. More specifically, projects included developing advocacy training for law students and junior lawyers in Tanzania and Nigeria, research on constitutional law and indigenous group rights in South America, international treaties on disability and alleged crimes of corporate pillage in sub-Saharan Africa.

Established a recruitment database of over 500 entries in order to support future domestic and international recruitment and aided in building an extensive inventory in coordination with the Logistics and Legacy team.
