Otago is the second largest region in New Zealand in terms of land area; approximately 32,000 sq km or 12% of New Zealand's land area. The coastline stretches approximately 480km from the Waitaki River in the north to Wallace Beach in the south. The coastal marine area extends out to sea 22.2 km (12 nautical miles).

An area experiencing unprecedented growth, best known for industry including manufacturing, agriculture, health services, and mining. Responsible for leading the Stakeholder Engagement and Communications department including media, strategic relations, all elements of communications, social media, brand, and public relations.Key Achievements:-Successfully managed a full organisational re-brand including rolling out over 200 gateway signs, redesigning the corporate website, refreshing all digital and social channels, redesigning all corporate uniforms, evolving language away from being bureaucratic, and redesigning all corporate documents- Led significant innovation in the digital space growing Council's social channels from 2000 to 23,000 in 1 year and moving towards in-house digital production capability- Provided ongoing strategic relations and media advice to the Mayor and Councillors on significant national projects including the Melbourne to Brisbane Inland Rail, the Toowoomba Second Range Crossing Highway, the Toowoomba to China Trade Delegation, and the Oakey groundwater contamination issue (a national DOD contamination issue)- Provided ongoing media portfolio advice to the Mayor and Councillors of Toowoomba Region- Developed and delivered a three year communication and engagement strategy for the organisation including undertaking a full restructure to make communication and stakeholder engagement more high performing and effective- Evolved Council's Annual Report to be award winning for the duration of my tenure to date

Responsible for management of the Communications and Engagement team (5 people) the Communications Design team (4 people), the Strategic Relations Advisor and Senior Media Advisor. Key Achievements: - Successfully developed and implemented 2010 -2013 City of Port Phillip Communications Strategy- Developed and implemented the City of Port Phillip Community Engagement Framework - Introduced social media to the City of Port Phillip gaining over 3000 Twitter followers and 40,000 unique visits using our online consultation website since 2010- Rolled out consistent organisational branding, including a style guide, and improved compliance with accessibility guidelines- Overhauled the City of Port Phillip website- Managed several key relationships with government agencies, suppliers, internal clients, and corporations
