As editor at i-FM.net, a leading online news and information hub for the facilities management market, I wrote regular features and monthly opinion pieces on hot-button issues, interviewed the sector's leading figures and commissioned articles from a wide range of thinkers and doers.

As editor of Facilities Management Journal, I kept readers informed of the latest news and trends, interviewed leading figures in the built environment, formed relationships with industry bodies, organized events, and led the magazine's development strategy.

Here, I found my feet in the world of trade journalism. I edited the magazine, developed new partnerships with organisations in the contract flooring sector and represented the title at exhibitions across Europe.

As the assistant editor for Facilities Management Journal, I was given the opportunity to develop my feature writing and sub-editing skills. I produced regular news stories, news analyses, features, and interviews under the guidance of the editor.

My job was to sell directory listings and classified adverts across the publishing company's entire portfolio. For five months I worked with the editorial team to target potential advertisers and create new leads.
