Society for Child Development started working for the betterment of children with mental disabilities in 1992. Aiming to create a world of equal opportunities for Children with disabilities, the organization has established a Resource Center for Children, a Mobile School Program for children in the slum areas. A skill development program for young adults in Gov. shelter homes and an employment program for the adults with disabilities.Thus, creating an environment where children with disabilities have a place for continuous development.

What happens when a person sees themselves as the 'Other', someone who is not normal?Imagine if you felt that way everyday, how would your life be?My responsibility is to propel our efforts forward, fortifying current programs and establishing new opportunities. The Avacayam program not only functions as an income-generating avenue for individuals with disabilities but also involves crafting initiatives tailored to their needs. Through these initiatives, individuals can engage in creative processes, fostering the development of their skills and, consequently, building their own sense of self-worth. This holistic approach aims to empower them not only economically but also by nurturing their talents and enhancing their overall well-being.

With 14 years of immersive work experience in commercial photography and filmmaking, my artistic journey has been a seamless fusion of creativity and commerce. Joining Avacayam's Disability Empowerment Program, I've played a pivotal role in infusing my extensive aesthetic expertise into product design, reshaping the visual landscape. Recently, our artistic exploration has extended to ceramics, unveiling a new dimension of creativity. Beyond crafting objects, this initiative serves as a canvas for fellow artists with disabilities to delve into their creative depths. The melding of my substantial industry experience with this inclusive venture allows us to break barriers, redefine norms, and sculpt a narrative of boundless creativity. Our recent artistic journey expands beyond traditional mediums into ceramics, birthing a new art form. It's a testament to our shared drive to push creative limits, not just crafting objects but sculpting a narrative of innovation and inclusivity. This initiative offers fellow artists with disabilities a platform to explore their creativity's depths.

As a photographer’s assistant, my responsibilities were not limited to set/scene management and lighting but also involved administrative duties and interacting with the clients, inside the studio. Administrative work includes managing paperwork and keeping inventories of materials such as filters, 800 firewire cables and other photographic materials. I was familiar with all the photographic equipment in the studio (which scaled from Broncolor Lighting system to 4x5 Camera with IQ Digital Backs, Canon full frame camera and array of lenses), so I would always be prepared and ready for work. I was also involved in Image Retouching, Colour Correction, and Compositing of assigned artwork according to the creative and production specifications. As a result, My interpersonal and communication skills increased and with my growing awareness, my ability to satisfyingly cater to the clients imaging needs also increased.Besides being a photographer’s assistant, I was also a behind the scene documentary filmmaker, the role demands to capture action as it happens. This responsibility includes central duties in pre-production, the actual filming, and the laborious editing and post-production work. Setting up cameras and angles and making sure it is of adequate quality at the very least while fulfilling other duties. Being ready to direct attention towards the priority instantly if something unexpected arises.

Prior to working in Jaideep Oberoi Photography Studio, I worked in JWT under the supervision of Sumati Singh (Vice-President, Creative Director IV) as a Art Director. My basic duties as an Art Director was to prepare layout designs with diverse representational approaches. My ability to incorporate compositional skills and colour techniques to material details (such as typeface & size, photographs, graphics, animation, video and sound) got tested when creating artwork for clients like Airtel, Hero, Slice, ESPN, KitKat etc. My duties also included correlating with creative, art, copy-writing, or production department heads to discuss client requirements and presentation concepts, and to coordinate creative activities to successfully present final layouts to clients for approval.

My responsibilities were to provide clean visuals of buildings, office spaces, houses etc in order for the agency to provide a visual elements/examples for their potential clients. For myself to achieve a clean and appealing photograph, I had to manage the space to match the aesthetic taste of the sales department / person in charge.
