As Promotions & Event for Currituck Travel & Tourism, I plan and execute festivals such as The Independence Day Celebration, Memorial Day Beach Blast, Currituck Heritage Festival and Whalehead Wednesdays among others, which help define the experiences of visitors, attributing to the attraction of Currituck as a destination. I'm passionate about developing creative strategies to grow our events and building relationships that foster their success.

As a World Heritage Area Rep, I mentored high school level exchange students for semester and year long programs in Currituck County. I recruited host families and helped both the exchange student and families navigate the cultural exchange from the students arrival in the United States to their departure. Throughout the student's exchange, I helped to make sure that the student was enjoying their experience including coordinating cultural activities and excursions with the student.

My goal as a teacher is to foster a positive and effectual learning environment for a diverse group of adolescent learners. I teach level I and level II high school Spanish courses, where we focus on the four components that lead students toward mastery of a second language: speaking, reading, writing, and a sound understanding of culture. I maintain a strong collaborative relationship between my administration, parents, and most importantly the student. I create and implement authentic lesson plans associated with the the North Carolina teaching standards and independently manage classes of 30 students. I vary instructional techniques and technology to create an engaging and fun learning environment.

As a teacher, I lead group tours for Currituck students to different Spanish speaking countries across the world to support Spanish language learning in the classroom. I act as liaison between our tour consultant and parents and manage all logistics. Last June, I led an amazing trip to aid in the conservation of the local mangroves of La Playa Seco.This year we are headed to Barcelona, Spain for an educational Spanish language immersion tour. My goal is to create authentic cultural experiences for those students interested in seeing the world in a new way.
