De Vereniging Jonge Arbeidsrecht Advocaten (VJAA) is een vereniging voor jonge arbeidsrecht advocaten. De vereniging is uitgegroeid tot een landelijke vereniging met meer dan 200 leden. Samen met twee andere advocaten heb ik deze vereniging opgericht en zo'n twee jaar bestuurd. Tot de oprichting was er geen vereniging waar de jonge arbeidsrecht advocaat terecht kon. We hebben in de oprichtingsfase te maken gehad met verschillende zaken, zoals met het inrichten van de statuten van de stichting bij oprichting, het opstellen van begrotingen, het aantrekken van leden en kasmiddelen, het vinden van aantrekkelijke regelingen voor leden bij uitgevers en aanbieders van cursussen, het regelen van sprekers voor bijeenkomsten. De vereniging zorgt ervoor dat jonge arbeidsrecht advocaten eenvoudig met elkaar in contact kunnen komen voor netwerkvorming, uitwisseling van kennis, ervaringen en ideeën. Het lidmaatschap staat open voor iedere advocaat die tenminste 50% van zijn tijd werkzaam is in de arbeidsrechtpraktijk en niet meer dan 7 jaar is beëdigd als advocaat. In 2010 ben ik overgestapt naar een ander kantoor waar ik ben gaan werken in de sectie ondernemingsrecht. Ik heb toen mijn bestuursfunctie neergelegd. Nu ik medeoprichter ben van de vereniging ben ik wel buitengewoon lid van de VJAA.
