Conservatorium van Amsterdam (CvA) has the largest and most diverse Jazz Department of Europe.In addition to producing large-scale big band, orchestra and ensemble projects, Sigrid Paans was responsible for an extensive Artist-in-Residence and guest lecturers' programme. She initiated an artists agency for students and alumni which has established contacts with various festivals and venues in the Netherlands and beyond. She was closely involved in setting up and developing sponsor-related activities, such as the Keep an Eye Jazz Award, a competition for Dutch and foreign students, and Keep an Eye 'the Records’. Under her leadership, the International Summer Jazz Workshop, organised in collaboration with the Manhattan School of Music NY, grew into a leading educational programme with scholarships for top talents.

The ArtEZ School of Music is located in Arnhem, Enschede, and Zwolle. Each location has an entirely unique atmosphere, one that’s often reflected in the music. At the same time, students will fully benefit from the facilities and opportunities of a large conservatory. These include the significant number of master classes from national and international guest lecturers, and playing in a band or orchestra in collaboration with students from other locations.
