In this program, I had the opportunity to play a crucial role in teaching young talents with the necessary tools and skills for professional success.Through a series of targeted workshops, we taught participants how to craft compelling resumes and cover letters that stand out to potential employers. We emphasized the importance of a strong LinkedIn profile, providing tips on how to present oneself effectively in the digital space.Networking skills were another focal point of our training. We guided participants on how to build and maintain professional relationships, a critical component in today's job market. Public speaking, an essential skill for career advancement, was also a key part of our curriculum. We provided strategies and practice opportunities to help participants gain confidence and communicate effectively in various professional settings.The impact of this program was profound, as we saw participants grow in confidence and competence, ready to take on the challenges of the job market with a new set of skills and a renewed sense of purpose.

In my role as a Tech Coach in the Technologies in Education department, I was able to teach workshops to university students on innovative educational tools. I introduced students to the functionalities and applications of SMART Technologies, Mentimeter, Moodle, Canvas, and various coding technologies. These sessions were designed to empower students with the skills needed to effectively integrate these tools into their academic endeavours.This position not only allowed me to refine my technical expertise but also significantly enhanced my public speaking and communication skills. Each workshop was an opportunity to engage with students, answer their questions, and ensure they felt confident in using these technologies. The dynamic nature of these sessions demanded clarity, patience, and the ability to simplify complex concepts, all of which contributed to my growth as a communicator.Beyond workshops, I provided technical support to the faculty, which included tasks such as exam support and modifications to the eClass platform. These responsibilities required a deep understanding of the tools and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Assisting faculty members ensured that the educational process ran smoothly and that any technical issues were resolved promptly.Overall, my experience as a tech coach was incredibly rewarding. It allowed me to blend my passion for technology with my desire to help others, all while honing skills that are invaluable in both professional and personal settings.

During my time as the Vice President External for the Education Student Association (ESA) at the University of Alberta, I had the privilege of representing our organization to various external groups. This role allowed me to work with the Students' Union, Faculty Associations, and the Alberta Teachers' Association (ATA), forging meaningful connections and fostering collaboration.One of my key responsibilities was to maintain positive relationships with our current sponsors. I took pride in nurturing these partnerships, ensuring that our sponsors felt valued and appreciated. Additionally, I actively sought out potential sponsors, presenting the ESA’s mission and activities in a compelling way to secure their support. Over 3000 students in faculty of education were able to enjoy discounts from 8 different businesses.Overseeing the ESA’s representation on various councils was another crucial aspect of my role. I ensured that our voice was heard and our interests were represented in important discussions. This involved attending meetings, contributing to decision-making processes, and advocating for our members.Overall, my role as Vice President External was a fulfilling experience that allowed me to develop strong professional relationships and contribute to the growth and success of the ESA.
