I love to learn and I love to make things.In middle school, I went to a video game coding summer camp, and I've been creating programs ever since. It was, in line with my "expertise" at the time, mostly games at first. I did a lot in Java, then picked up Unity and even ended up doing my high school thesis on Unity game design (it was a fancy high school). Around that time I had my first internship at VSS where I learned C# and SQL and got to work on my first "real" program. Contributing to production software felt like such an honor to high school me.Throughout college, I think I learned more programming outside of class than in. I worked part-time for the PERSIST research lab there where I developed my self-learning muscles, going from 0 Python knowledge to creating a full tkinter/CLI data analysis program with ML capabilities. I messed around with AWS and Ruby and created some "fun" Discord bots that annoy my friends to this very day. The most fun class I took was in VR development, but the most helpful was a semester-long Agile team project where we made a LAMP website hosted on AWS.I still make programs in my free time. These days it's a lot of little personal worldbuilding tools (some of which you can see on my GitHub). Python is my language of choice and lately I've been trying to brush up on the web side of it (Django/Flask).
