The duties of the Director of Education include the development and management of the education plan for all staff members in the organization. A big focus is given in ensuring all clinical staff are being re-certified in a timely manner and the maintenance of their competency within their scope of practice. Moreover, performing gap analyses to assess the knowledge gap in the different disciples as well as creating the education to meet the need. In addition, the education department Director participates in performance improvement projects in conjunction with the hospital’s quality department. Coordination of the new employee orientation also falls within the responsibilities of this role.

Responsibilities include to assesses, plan, direct and evaluate educational needs for the intensive care unit registered nurses. Additionally, educational programs based on the needs identified in the critical setting both in the intensive care unit and the step-down unit are developed in conjunction with department directors and the hospital administration team. Furthermore, the development and delivery of clinical orientation program of all new nurses, including cross training to the different areas as designated, as well as leading the New Graduate RN Program and training are also part of this role at the organization.

This role often requires the management of mechanical ventilation, vasopressor support and advanced hemodynamic monitoring including arterial lines and central venous pressure. Work closely with intensivists and assist in central line placement, arterial line placement, para/thoracentesis, chest tube, and tracheostomy placement.

Collaborating with the Adult Health I class lead, the goal for the students is to grasp the basic concepts of Medical Surgical nursing. The main responsibility as an instructor is to guide students through applying theoretical knowledge into the clinical setting. Also, serving as a liaison between the clinical agencies and the School of Nursing to coordinate and plan clinical hours for the semester and provide a wide array of educational experiences for the students.

Responsible for the care of ill or injured campers and staff members as the sole health care provider on site. Some of the tasks included to oversee the data collection of health histories and medication record for each of the children registered for camp. Other responsibilities included assessing and screening all campers as they checked in, coordinating medication administration, evaluating and foreseeing physical and emotional needs, as well as collaborating with the physician on call as needed.

The Freshman Orientation and University Success program at California Baptist University allows for student leaders to develop a well-rounded knowledge on how to be a successful young adults to teach incoming freshman the information and skills they will need to develop to accomplish that goal. I was given the responsibility to teach a 1 unit class at the collegiate level, where students would learn how to gain academic, emotional, personal and professional intelligence.

My responsibilities included managing the facility, ensuring the safety of participants and promoting an organized and developmental work environment. As a Facility Lead I had the opportunity to encourage and guide student worker's professional and personal development, as well as provide quality recreational service for Faculty, Staff and Students of California Baptist University.

During my time at the Office of Conferences and Events I have had the opportunity to oversee the efficiency of set up and tear down of all events throughout campus while coordinating and managing crews of up to 70 student workers. My duties included the coordination and delegation of tasks to ensure a detail oriented service to both internal and external clients.

As a Resident Assistant I collaborated with the Residence Life Office and Resident Directors to provided a wholesome experience to the University's residential community.

As a scholarship recipient for participation and involvement in one of the University choirs, I did not only participate as an active singer in the choir, but I also acquired different responsibilities throughout my years as a choir member. These responsibilities included singing, driving equipment to concerts, overseeing proper set up and tear down, and ensuring an the safety of participants during this process.
