Simarna Singh is a passionate sustainability professional, and is actively involved in actioning Sustainability and ESG, with a strong belief that “the Youth are key stakeholders in catalysing change...”At the start of her career, Simarna was appointed as a United Nations Global Compact Youth Ambassador. She had the privilege to be a part of MASDAR’s Future Sustainability Leader’s program to complement her academic studies. She represented the UAE Youth Delegation in Madrid at the COP25 United Nations Climate Change conference with the UAE Ministry of Climate Change and Environment. More recently, she was selected by the Singapore Government as one of the 40 youth to participate in the Climate Youth Development Program & attend COP28. Additionally, she received the honour of being chosen the Indonesian Government to address the broader sustainability agenda of ASEAN.Sim has taken a leadership role as the Regional (APAC) Healthcare Sustainability Manager for DKSH, a Swiss multinational specialising in market expansion services. Prior to this, she worked at foodpanda Singapore, an online food and grocery delivery platform owned by German multinational Delivery Hero. Her understanding, knowledge and experience around Sustainability has led her to share her learning with corporates, as a Consultant. In August 2020, she was the Sustainability Consultant for the Singapore Business Council in UAE after, spending almost a year consulting a leading 5-star hospitality brand with their mandatory sustainability compliance for seven properties. She also focused on growing and expanding her Singapore Social Enterprise, Coco Veda, internationally whilst, amplifying impact.In 2023, as the author, Simarna's research on the adoption of UN Sustainable Development Goals in Dubai Hotels was published by SAGE in the Tourism and Hospitality Research Journal.Simarna has been a Keynote Speaker and Moderator at 90+ International conferences and events. Notable speaking engagements include being alongside the President of Armenia H.E. Received funding from UOB to pilot the GreenTech Accelerator packaging solutions. • Ideated and executed Green Label, a restaurant certification scheme with 49 Brands, 14 Strategic Accounts and 900+ Outlets. Green Label was inaugurated by H.E. Senior Minister of State for Sustainability and Environment, Dr. Amy Khor. In collaboration with the partnerships team, Simarna also received support from DBS for Green Label funded vouchers.• Coordinating and leading the Singapore entities' Carbon Reporting (GHG Protocol - Scope 1, 2 & 3 emissions).• In partnership with Teads Care, we donated 5% of our advertising budget to support a Singapore Social Enterprise, Wateroam. • Partnered with Red Cross Singapore and raised S$60,000+ for Ukraine Relief. • Activated Donate a Meal, in collaboration with the Singapore Food Bank and till date donated 68,031 meals ($148,000+). • Lead for the Mandatory Packaging Report and 3R Plan's from NEA to lay the foundation for EPR. • Executed a reusable packaging program with Muuse, to showcase reducing single-use plastic within the company and merchants we work with.• Liaise with the Marketing and Comms team to ensure all sustainability initiatives are marketed effectively with a goal to educate our consumers to opt for conscious alternatives. • Simarna also worked closely with the PR Team on 87 pieces of organic sustainability media coverage.
