I am the president and founder of Prosper Sustainably, a firm that assists government, business, nonprofit, and tribal organizations in the areas of energy, climate change, and environmental sustainability. Prosper's services include strategic planning, program and project planning, grant writing, project management, feasibility studies, drafting environmental laws, business planning, and market analyses. Prosper also conducts in-person and online trainings.

Fulfillment Bound is dedicated to helping people identify, pursue, and fulfill their unique potential. Fulfillment Bound offers strategies, stories, trainings, services, and other resources that assist individuals, couples, families, and communities in their journey toward fulfillment.

Periodically instructed graduate degree courses and seminars at UCSB's Bren School of Environmental Science and Management on Native American Environmental Law & Management, Grant Writing, and Proposal Writing.

Instruct workshops on environmental code development and grant writing to tribal environmental professionals. Completed workshops for the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, Institute for Tribal Environmental Professionals, Inter-tribal Council of Arizona, Tribal Lands Forum, and Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.

As Director, I transformed the Santa Ynez Chumash Environmental Office (SYCEO) into one of the nation's leading tribal environmental agencies. I oversaw a broad and expanding scope of innovative programs, an increasing number of talented staff members, and growing community involvement. From 2007 to March 2014 the SYCEO grew from 1 to 15+ employees, 2 to 20+ programs, and from $100,000 to $1,000,000 in annual external funding (through grants, self-sufficient businesses, and internalization of contracted services).SYCEO initiatives developed and implemented under my leadership include air quality, biofuels, business development, climate change, community gardens, community outreach, compressed natural gas, electric vehicles, emergency planning, energy efficiency, environmental education, green buildings, green jobs, pollution prevention, public works, solar, sustainable landscaping, waste, water, and wildlife & habitat.

Conducted a market analysis on the QXR-W, an automated treated-wood waste identification and sorting system, reporting the applicable regulations, marketable benefits, financial feasibility, and target markets.

Performed legal work for the Law Office of Marc Chytilo on CEQA and Land Use matters.

Researched corporate, anti-trust, and property law issues and prepared legal memoranda for attorneys. Created an “Operating Agreement” template for new LLCs under California Corporations Code.

Directed teams that provided legal aid to non-profit organizations on environmental issues. Led a team that successfully challenged a City of Carlsbad project having adverse CEQA impacts and prepared a non-conforming land use ordinance that was enacted by National City.

Administered and enforced CWA and stormwater runoff regulations within the Port’s jurisdiction. Revised the Port’s Construction Stormwater Runoff Program to improve operational efficiency. Drafted the final version of the Port of San Diego Environmental Mitigation Policy.
