“Aha moments”… are what light me up when I’m engaging with a group of people. There’s nothing more electrifying than when learners get a concept, ask the hard questions, and open their minds to different viewpoints. To see that look of triumph on someone’s face when they’ve mastered a skill, an idea, or even better, when they discover and finally believe in their own potential, is about as close to pure joy as I can imagine.As a L&D Specialist and corporate trainer, I’ve been in these situations hundreds of times and it never, ever gets old. Put me in a room with everyone from entry level to the C-suite, and I’m one happy camper. My facilitation skills have allowed me to bring together diverse groups of people and create a productive, yet fun and very engaging environment. During my time with Columbia Bank, I created, revised, and delivered materials both in person and virtually across the bank’s PNW footprint using WebEx, Zoom, Skype, Adobe, PowerPoint, and LMS. I’ve also taught FranklinCovey and Blanchard courses, Keirsey, Dependable Strengths materials, and more. Collaborating with cross-functional teams and creating amazing, on-fire synergy to solve organizational challenges is a big deal for me as well.Earlier in my training career, I had the distinct pleasure of helping well over 1,800 individuals uncover their talents and skills in order to escape the oppressing world of poverty. These experiences happened by listening, observing, and having a wicked sense of humor. Outside of work you’ll find me involved with food in one way or another, being outdoors, or getting involved in my community. Meeting other people and getting excited about what life has to offer is also at the top of my list.
