As the Associate Director of Operations at A Wilderness Way Ltd, I have taken on the critical role of overseeing and managing all AWW services, directly organising and leading 42 properties under the AWW portfolio. Since joining the company in May 2019, I have worked diligently to ensure that we deliver the highest quality therapeutically informed care and education. I am proud to have successfully led the front-line care and operations team of circa 250 care staff through an entire organisational restructure to ensure compliance with regulatory standards. As the operational lead, I was responsible for developing and implementing internal action plans to ensure that our residents received the highest level of care and support regardless of the ever deteriorating global situation. I also served as the primary point of contact for all external communication with local authorities and other stakeholders.In addition to these responsibilities, I directly managed Registered Managers and care teams, overseeing the daily operations of 27 homes. I am proud to have played a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our residents during the pandemic. Through proactive measures, such as implementing strict infection control protocols and providing additional resources and support to our staff, we were able to maintain a high standard of care and prevent the spread of COVID-19 within our facilities.Throughout this challenging time, I remained committed to ensuring that our residents received the care and support they needed to thrive. During this time, I was entrusted with providing operational support to junior Registered Managers and training them in regulatory compliance and reporting for the North-West cluster. In this role, I led a team of 36 people, including clinical staff, in providing care for up to eight children at any one time.Throughout my tenure, I worked closely with a variety of education provisions and local authorities to achieve positive outcomes for 37 children under our care. Through effective collaboration and communication, we were able to provide each child with the individualised care and support they needed to thrive.One of my most significant achievements in this role was taking over a home that had previously been judged 'inadequate' and transforming it into an OFSTED 'outstanding' facility within just 13 months. By implementing a series of innovative new programs and processes, we were able to significantly improve the quality of care and support we provided to our residents.

As the Registered Manager at North Lakes Children's Services, I took on the responsibility of running a Registered Children's home for five children. Under my leadership, I cultivated a team of 18 staff members who provided positive and effective care while prioritizing the rights and views of the child. I served as the primary liaison with local authorities and other stakeholders, ensuring regulatory compliance and managing the financial aspects of the service. Through my efforts, I was able to reopen a previously mothballed 'inadequate' home and, within a year, achieve an OFSTED 'good' rating at the subsequent full inspection. I am extremely proud to have made a significant impact on the lives of the children in our care and contributed to the overall success of the organization.
