About Simon Beer

I currently head up the Adult College, Barking and Dagenham. The College runs courses for borough residents and Londoners to improve their employability, earning and career potential, as well as their health & wellbeing and social integration.I am passionate about the transformational impact of education on people’s life chances. I strongly believe that the best education programmes are designed with people and communities not for them. I am interested in co-production and design thinking as ways of improving and modernising public services.I have a strong leadership record of managing change, improvement and innovation. I am committed to relational working through collaboration, networks, commissioning and partnership.Other areas of interest / expertise include post-compulsory education/skills policy, creative education, research / R&D, strategic planning.
