Funded by the department of Business Innovation and Skills (BIS), the programme helped define the changing expectations and status of governance, and collaborated with sector partners including the Association of Colleges' Governors' Council to improve governance in further and adult education. The programme aimed to use a strong evidence base to support the development and improvement of governance in the sector.
