Commercializing machine learning tools from my research to help transit agencies improve service reliability. We developed a real-time ETA prediction algorithm that was selected by Metro Transit to predict the arrivals of 1,400 buses in the Twin Cities. Each day, hundreds of thousands of passengers use our predictions through LED signs and third-party mobile apps (Google Maps, Transit app, etc.) to navigate the Metro Transit system.

* Built a Two-Tower deep recommendation system powering Convoy's app, marketing campaign, and pricing models features. The relevance engine was found to be 28% more accurate than previous tree-based model in A/B test, while simplifying the infrastructure (10k lines of code snipped)

* Deployed a real-time ETA model to predict truck arrivals that automatically notified shippers based on their preferred late tolerance. The model increased late detection lead time by 46% (33m), which enabled shipper to proactively prevent service failures at their facilities.* Productionized an NLP model to automatically schedule appointments offered by shippers via email. The model recognizes parsed dates/times, generates text embedding, and classifies candidate appointments.
