I am an Occupational Psychologist with over 20 years' experience in enhancing the performance of personnel that work in mission critical systems. During my career I have spent significant time working with clients across the Defence and Security industries. I am also the current Chair of the British Psychological Society’s Defence and Security Psychology section. Previous work has included enhancing selection and assessment systems (particularly for personnel undertaking dangerous roles), investigating the implications of potential policy changes and enhancing the effectiveness and efficiency of training systems. Increasingly, my work has become focused on the cyber domain where I have researched and advised clients on a range of topics relating to employee behaviour and online security. My experience also includes work to identfy and assess competency requirements for cyber security professionals and this expertise was used in the UK Cyber Security Challenge. I also hold significant business development and client relationship experience and I have previously held client relationship roles and set up and led a 'bid team' to enhance the quality of proposals produced by my team.My prior experience includes understanding the impact of new technology on people and organisations, talent management, selection and asssessment, design of new systems, assessment of workload and wellbeing, competency testing.
