I qualified as a Solicitor in 1985 specialising in contentious work. I became a Partner at Faithfull & Bowker (subsequently White & Bowker) Solicitors, Winchester in 1989. Since then I have concentrated mainly on Family Law, acting for private clients undergoing relationship breakdown. I am a member of the Law Society's Family Law Panel and I am the Regional Treasurer for Hampshire Resolution. In 2006 I became accredited as a Collaborative Lawyer and have successfully completed over thirty cases using the collaborative approach. I also hold a part-time appointment as HM Deputy Coroner for Central Hampshire, which involves investigating and presiding over Inquests into people who have died unnaturally or unexpectedly. I have to make findings of fact and reach a verdict based on the evidence I have seen and heard. In cases involving deaths in custody I sit with a jury.
