Led strategic transformation activities to establish a pricing practice within the AI product management function, including setup of company-wide process for price-setting and definition of commercial launch activities and deliverables. Major responsibilities included: • Creation, approval, roll-out of the first standard global catalogues, commercial packages and pricing strategies, pricing models and sales enablement tools, for our core fraud & compliance software and services business and managed (cyber) security services business. • Transformation and simplification of our managed security services catalogue and pricing methodology and associated business-winning process. Replacement of labour intensive, SME-led bidding process with first ever (highly popular) pre-approved price books/tools integrated with standard services contracts.• Leading on programme to pioneer the use of Salesforce.com pricing tools in our business, implementing products and services catalogues, guided selling, and discounting rules.• Development of innovative pricing models for large, complex and landmark bids.• Additional responsibilities including acting as secretary to the Pricing Board; defining, launching, publishing and maintaining price books; providing critical cost modelling and business analysis of strategic options; preparing and delivering briefings to leadership and sales communities on pricing models; creating and briefing submissions on AI-wide pricing models to industry analysts.

Senior manager reporting to the Leadership Team, implementing a number of major operational change programmes within the FS business unit. Main responsibility on this role was proposing and establishing our regional delivery centre in Poland, later to become part of the BAE Systems AI Global Delivery Centre. Creating a lower-cost in-region delivery centre was a key business objective in the AI 5 year strategic business plan which has subsequently grown to a scale of around 200 heads. Simon was joint recipient of a BAE Systems Chairman’s Award for his work on this initiative. Additional responsibilities included:• Preparing and presenting the initial ‘buy/build’ business case and recommendations for the business unit’s nearshore resourcing strategy and gaining Detica Exec Board approval and investment for the recommended option. • Taking ownership of the delivery centre operational set-up: coordinating and project managing multiple internal threads around the establishment of the in-country entity; selection and outfitting of the office location; creation and presentation of offers of employment to initial staff (some of which came via a TUPE-type agreement with an existing 3rd party); briefing recruiters and interviewing first wave of additional technical hires. • Establishing the first internal product P&L-led investment framework; analysis and construction of the first ever products-centred P&L dashboard and beginning the transformation of financial reporting of our commercial business unit from project to products-led, rollout of modelling framework and tools to capture the relative ROI of product platform investments, using to produce business prioritisation of R&D projects, and the first ever view of the standard products catalogue.

Simon led a team of business analysts and information architects to deliver the functional specification for the Metropolitan Police Service's mobile data capability. This will deliver back-office IS services and information to thousands of front-line police officers over a variety of mobile devices including PDA, in-car terminals and tablet PCs.

Simon was business architect on a project to deliver a case management system and intelligence database to a secure governmnet client. Simon was responsible for managing the user requirements and ensuring that the business requirements are correctly and consistently interpreted by a large multiple-stream development team. Simon also produced a number of key business change programme documents, including an Operating Model and Business Definition, depicting how changes to the business process would be required in order to maximise the benefit from the deployment of the technical solution, and describes to a business audience how the various components should be used to optimally integrate across the entire business process.
