I have been a university lecturer since 1997, and have wide ranging experience of teaching at undergraduate and masters level, as well as supervision of research students and post-doctoral research associates.I have extensive experience of being lead or co-investigator on research projects at all scales, and have a keen interest in translating and applying my scientific expertise in 3D imaging to topics and projects with real-world relevance.Recent funded projects include NERC Flocs, looking at floc structure and behaviour; NERC resist, exploring how sediment structure conditions their stability and capacity to accommodate sea level rise and storm events; and IOSI Bugs Veggies & Worms, understanding how extremophile worms and grasses can enhance bioremediation of oil sands tailings.Currently Lead Co-I and PI on two NERC/AHRC/ESRC Treescapes projects, looking at how children and young people can engage with and protect urban woodlands and how they can connect their carbon footprints with the sequestration and storage they offer.
