Example work:• Student accommodation acquisitions and mixed use development scheme options, agreement for lease, lease, site assembly, infrastructure, overage, nominations agreement and development financing.• Hotel sale for £600m and the UK aspects of a global hotel business acquisition for £400m.• Promotion agreements for two separate logistics park developments.• Acquisitions and disposals of office and mixed use schemes as well as associated asset management work. • Property and share sales of one company's care home portfolio.• Tenant representation - asset management work for several established and start-up retailers and various office tenants in London (US lawyers, financiers, insurance, cyber-security, and clean technology), • Real estate finance including an industrial park portfolio acquisition, residential portfolios, a care home portfolio, and shopping precinct acquisition and development.

Tenant based lettings - renewals, acquisitions, re-gears, and all associated portfolio management work. I acted predominantly for AS Watson and its UK operations, working with Superdrug Stores plc, The Perfume Shop Limited, Savers Health and Beauty Limited and Hutchison 3G UK Limited (trading as "3" and "Three.") and their overall portfolio of around 2400 shops in England and Wales.8 months spent in-house, on secondment, as the sole property legal counsel for Three.Responsible for all property matters such as the estate management of offices and data centres across the country, as well as over 300 stores in the portfolio. Project managing 3’s retail rollout of additional stores and therefore liaising with external solicitors, agents, project managers, finance departments, architects, procurement teams, and human resource departments and thereby generally overseeing and acquiring an invaluable insight into in-house work and the associated commercial considerations and processes.Other work includes:- Options, auction sales, disposals and leases for my long-standing developer client.- Office lettings at Battersea, including the space for Victoria Beckham.- Office renewals in Soho for retail property consultants and in Surrey for the firm's IFA.- High-end residential conveyancing in Surrey, Sussex and Kent for commercial clients.- Property lettings and management work for a high-end suit retailer.- Tenant work for a key London bath and body connoisseur retail company. - Additional high street chains represented: jewellers, salons, herbalists, and baby products.

Freehold and leasehold transactions and developments for the likes of Modus, Wilson Bowden and Resolution.Examples:Acquisition (and associated funding and asset management) of The Printworks leisure scheme in Manchester.Acquisition (and associated funding) of a multi-million pound shopping centre in Coventry. Acquisition of a centre in Blackpool and the sale of a centre in Bishop's Stortford, and the associated development of these and a third in Wigan. These three primary schemes of over 40 units each (development values from £150m - £220m) involved the satisfaction of funding conditions precedent; acquiring land by way of CPO and private treaty; the negotiation of development and lock out agreements; and negotiating various lettings of retail units to high street restaurant and retail names such as Debenhams, Next, H&M, River Island, and New Look.Portfolio management work and therefore day-to-day issues of insurance, service charge, licences, assignments, rent reviews and disputes.Real estate financing including the review of developer acquisitions for a mezzanine property developer/lender and high street bank JV.Institutional leases and investment sales of industrial and office units (£200,000 to over £5m) to a variety of end users (IT, insurance companies and pension schemes).Site Assembly - stopping up orders, utilities leases, easements, substation re-locations, mobile masts and crane licences.Multi-million pound sale and leaseback of a supermarket site, the forward funding and development finance. Property driven corporate deals and corporate support, including the share sale of a Jersey SPV property holding company.Forward sale (golden brick provisions) and pre-letting to a RSL.Drafting and negotiation of sale contracts (conditional or otherwise), transfers, agreements for lease, leases, option assignments, put and call options, certificates of title, reports on title, surrenders, and licences (alteration and underletting).

Commercial Litigation/Construction, Corporate, Commercial IP/IT placements, with experience that includes negotiating contractor’s and sub–contractor’s warranties, involvement in several PFI projects, company re-organisations and corporate support. Development work included the production of a certificate of title for a £100 million facility and report for the client, and title reports created for a town centre re-development and speculative site assembly.

• Responsibility for the London aspects of the Occupiers Group. • Day to day supervision of a paralegal and trainees, NQs and junior solicitors and assisting peers.• Quasi-practice support lawyer role by presenting, managing and inviting individuals in the team to present know-how to the department and discuss files and transactions of particular relevance and interest. • Assisting with client tenders and client bids.• Forms of CSR; for example, Ready for Work Job Club and London Legal Walk.• Roles in summer vacation scheme assessment days, interviewing, speed networking and the supervision of the placement students.• Graduate Recruitment Tactical Team Co-Coordinator for the East Midlands responsible for the management of a team of nine trainees and the graduate recruitment program at six universities in the Midlands, control of a substantial budget for graduate recruitment used at my discretion, and delivering presentations to students, including “Life as a Lawyer” and “Image Building” workshops, and participating in role plays presented at the various universities. Responsibility for supervising and mentoring students on vacation schemes and devising a work schedule for their time in the office.• Presentations about promoting yourself at interview and how to secure a vacation placement or training contract.• College of Law Mentor – providing support and advice to a LPC student on matters such as procuring a training contract.• IT innovation – working with the solutions team in developing automated lease extraction software.• Foundation Course Training, which involved the delivery of a two hour presentation to secretaries giving an overview of a typical real estate transaction.• Enterprise Week- hosting an entrepreneurial day for Year 9 pupils of a local school.• Member of the Social Club Committee responsible for planning, budgeting and organising trips out to attractions around the country.
