I led the course development of the Driver Trade majoring on the Demountable Rack Off-load & Pick-up System (DROPS) Medium Mobility Load Carrier (MMLC) truck. This was followed by the course design and development for the RLC (Reserves) Command, Leadership and Management (CLM(R)) courses for Junior Non Commissioned Officers. This also included developing power point presentations that were dyslexic friendly. As the RLC (R) Corps HQ, I was part of a team delegated to audit the management of training systems (MTS) for all 9 regional RLC (R) regiments and some national RLC (R) regiments annually; completing full documentary reports. This included developing the MTS document and approving input from other sources.

In charge of the Driver DROPS courses required by all soldiers joining the regiment in the Driver role. This included instruction to soldiers from regular Army units deploying to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Supervised a team on the User Trial for the Truck Utility Heavy (TUH), which was competed by vehicles from Reynold Boughton, Land Rover and Stonefield. Although the team believed the Stonefield was ideal for the Airborne Brigade, Reynold Boughton was awarded the Army wide contract.The All Terrain Vehicle (ATV) trial was whittled down to two contenders, the SUPACAT 6x6 ATV and the ESARCO 8x8 ATV. I introduced the 8x8 ATV trial around all units of the Airborne Brigade and produced a full documentary report. This led to my recruitment to the Royal Armament & Reseach Development Establishment at Chertsey.
