I am a Software Development Manager with over 15 years of applied experience working throughout the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Having started my career as a hands-on software developer, I’ve worked in a range of languages, mostly .NET C#, across different project types and corporate environments, I rapidly accelerated from Developer to Senior Software Developer, to Software Development Manager.I come from a strong IT background which complements the world of R&D and software development extremely well. After all, technology underpins everything we do in R&D.I’ve had the fortune of working in private sector primarily in technology and innovation led organisations, as well as experience in the public sector working for local government (Police).I would describe myself as proven problem solver with a keen eye for detail who is passionate about technology and all aspects of cross-functional Research and Development / Technology.I take pride in the delivery of high-quality solutions to customers, achieved through building and leading high performance teams, recruiting and selecting the best talent, creating a structure where people are informed, empowered and engaged, and are able to deliver corporate and project objectives.I have experience with introducing systems, tools and processes to help development and QA teams to perform their jobs effectively and efficiently, including deep experience with the Atlassian suite of applications (including Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo), code quality and code security tools, binary management, software composition and license compliance tools, etc.My experience mainly resides with on-premise and internet enabled systems and software, but I also have some experience with SaaS based development and delivery in Azure and AWS cloud environments. I am keen to continue accelerating my knowledge and applying it in a corporate setting, working with Cloud based development teams to deliver next generation software and solutions.
