Initially started as a Design Engineer gaining CAD and Technical Drawing experience as well as working with suppliers, customers, and internal manufacturing and materials departments to bring in new products and help solve problems with existing products. A 10 month placement in development testing and working with the validation teams to investigate failure modes and support continued validation testing hours which eventually led on to a desire to learn about simulation techniques. Now after ~10 years in the Analysis team at BorgWarner, an experienced Structures and Fluids Analysis Engineer covering a wide range of simulation and analysis techniques and methods. Proficient in AMESim 1D model building, parametric studies and design optimisation, design robustness improvement and manufacturing process guidance. And with 2 years experience working within a first time pass rate team to bring our latest FIE to full production, gaining skills in hardware testing, DOE development and organising specialist part manufacture, testing and inspections. Proficient in structural FEA helping to route cause failure modes, safety factor analysis techniques and propose design robustness solutions, capable of developing complex models and making use of Matlab to help process results more efficiently. More recently, given the changing times for propulsion technologies, developing new skills in ANSYS Fluent to look at various Hydrogen Injector designs, to help the advanced engineering team develop successful prototypes for testing.
