Within my most recent role as Equality, Diversity, Inclusion & Engagement (EDI+) Manager my mission echoed that of the one I've held throughout my career - to champion diversity, challenge prejudice and help create an inclusive environment where every voice is heard and respected.I also actively apply this ambition to every other area of my life. In January 2023 I proudly founded "Out-Out," my town's vibrant LGBT+ social community group and since launch we've grown to nearly 60 amazing members offering weekly evening socials, weekend crafting workshops, and Warwickshire's first LGBT+ monthly book club in partnership with Rugby Library. 📚Oh, and I'm also a proudly passionate advocate for mental health and an unyielding activist for LGBT+ rights (standing as an unrelenting ally to trans individuals. 🏳️⚧️)This all keeps me incredibly busy and very excited. But I still have time to hear from YOU!I can't wait to connect with all of you as we realise our ambitions, achieve our goals and continue making positive changes together.

Talent Development ExecutiveKew Green Hotels Limited Jul 2018 - Nov 2020Rugby, United KingdomInitially working alongside the Talent Development Manager I supported the coordination of business programmes of learning whilst remotely supporting hotel operational teams' learning needs and administering all things learning & development on a day-to-day basis. The role quickly grew substantially and my L&D responsibilities became more holistic and included end-to-end development from training needs analysis to planning and coordination to ultimate delivery of workshops. for 3000 employees, from a department of just 2 colleagues! Workshop content could be as varied as breakfast service skills masterclasses to HR disciplinary and grievance procedures with mock tribunals. I would also create and publish content to raise awareness and celebrate Kew Green Hotel's Learning & development functions both internally and externally across social media. Alongside training which addressed day-to-day operational need such as the fantastic "Service Secrets - Phase 4" initiative which saw all hotels receive daily training tips, 365 days a year I was responsible for the creation of longer term developmental training (our Hotel Leadership "Progression Puzzle" was launched to great acclaim in 2019) and apprenticeships. A highlight of my time at Kew Green was the recruitment, professional and personal support of a cohort of 40 apprentices placed on a Commis Chef Level 2 standard which commenced in October 2018. This programme saw 80% retention rate over 12 months and the success of the scheme (alongside other great achievements) contributed to the talent team being awarded:InterContinental Hotels Group Hotel Stars Award for "2019 Best People Development - Europe"Springboard's "Best Young People Attraction and Development Award - 2019"and the "Caterer.com People Awards – In-House Team of the Year 2019"My final project at KGH saw the launch of an eLearning system across the business including creation of company-specific eLearning modules. -

Ecommerce Development AssistantGeorge @ Asda Aug 2013 - May 2014Lutterworth, LeicestershireMy role as dot com development assistant was both a fantastic challenge and a rewarding one. The key element of my role is to manage and prioritise the process and backlog of online enhancements suggested by key business stakeholders. This has included adding new functionality to the George.Com site, built using demandware, such as product zoom, hover over alternative images and modifying page layouts etc – all of which I have improved or implemented since joining the company. New functionality on the George site is measured to ensure profitable sales growth and conversion through a variety of metrics.I also lead bi-monthly innovation sessions where I suggest, collate and encourage stakeholder ideas for website enhancements influencing management across the business. These suggestions are then enriched and taken to a business change session where, after sourcing all the relevant information, I take questions from the change team based in Asda House, Leeds and ensure that the enhancements are given endorsement to be sent to the coding team based in Bulgaria. These enhancements are monitored via daily calls with 3 members of the coding team to ensure the enhancements are progressing as the business would expect. Following the enhancements going live I report metrics to the business at 4 week and 3 month intervals.I also liaise regularly with agencies responsible for creative content and multi-variant page layout and functionality testing. During my time in the position I have also been responsible for colleague department training including rolling-out process for raising support requests which led me to be voted colleague of the quarter after only 3 months with the department.

Community Life ChampionAsda Feb 2012 - Aug 2013I was thrilled to be offered the role of community life champion and have enjoyed every moment of my time within the role. Being directly responsible for a store KRA (KPI) I have ensured that my contributions to the reputation and performance of the store have never been less than 100% enabling Asda Leamington to finish 2012 with green KRAs in all areas. Community is also currently at 100% over all accredited points for 2013. As Community Life Champion I am solely responsible for: assessing requests for financial and physical assistance from local good causes – replying in writing to all such requests, liaising with local media to promote the work I undertake and raise awareness for local charities, foyer diary management; ensuring that local charities are assigned space and time to undertake collections and events in the store foyer area, being aware of local community events and attempting to involve Asda in them where appropriate and ensuring that all monies from sponsored and collection events are properly accounted for using the community life bank accounts and following cash-office procedure. I also deal with store complaints letters and am an active member of colleague voice. It is the responsibility I have been given within the role and the opportunities it has given me that have enabled me to secure a place at this year’s Wal-Mart Shareholder Conference in Bentonville, USA. My weekly duties can differ wildly with anything from preparing and serving lunches at dementia care homes, addressing a class of 30 school children and speaking with them on the importance of eating fresh fruit and vegetables to organising the climbing of Ben Nevis for a local hospice. Seeing a project through to completion gives me a huge sense of personal satisfaction. I have also had the opportunity to work closely with the management team and provide them with information on our community involvement and in-store activities on a weekly basis – often in large groups. -
