Being a Business Operations Manager in a Government Department is exactly what you'd think it's like, particularly in my role. I'm the colleague at work that everyone wants to know but nobody wants to be. If you want to get something done, you come to me - everyone knows that! Yet no one wants to have to do what I do because of the amount of personal time and effort that goes into being everyone's go-to person. I take pride in the fact that I do the 1% jobs in the organisation, those jobs that everyone takes for granted and doesn’t see until they’re not being done. Luckily, my passion is to try and make everyone’s working lives easier and to ensure that we delivery capabilities to the end user. Unlike many others I have worked with in the past, my answer to a problem is not no but instead let’s look at what we need to do to make it work. There aren't many things that can grow a business or an organisation the way that trust and dependability can, and I pride myself in being so dedicated to both. When I'm not at work I'm at home enjoying time with my family of three which includes my wife and teenage daughter. I have a strong passion for golf with a single handicap and enjoy the time every Sunday to enjoy a stroll on the fairways (and sometimes in the trees) with friends.
