I am a multi-platform editor, writer and creative lead. My career has spanned two decades of full-time experience creating and managing print and digital content, strategy and developing talent for some of the world’s most prestigious media brands. An internationally published journalist, author and photographer my work has appeared in National Geographic, The Times, The Independent, The Guardian and a range of magazines and periodicals such as Landscape, Empire, Town & Country and the Ernest Journal. Graduating with a BSc in applied Earth science in 2003, I started a career in adventure and travel journalism. I was the editor of Trail Magazine for nine years, leading a passionate PPA-winning magazine brand team in creating 13 issues a year and a range of standalone publications, commercial supplements and bookazines. I joined the UK offices of National Geographic in 2019 as UK online editor commissioned and produced over 200 content pieces and worked across various projects within its parent, The Walt Disney Company. Ranging from photojournalism to scientific investigations to historical deep-dives, interviews and imagery spotlights, many of these have been translated and published on National Geographic sites across EMEA, LATAM and the US.I wrote a monthly column for The Guardian‘s century-old Country Diary, and my two books about the British mountains, Between the Sunset and the Sea (HarperCollins, 2015) and The Black Ridge (HarperCollins, 2021) won wide critical praise. My work has been translated into six languages and my photographs have appeared on the covers of magazines and books. I am based in Stamford and London and available for assignment.
