As both a Quantity Surveyor, Cost Planner and Estimator, I have been involved in a variety of roles requiring different skill sets including estimating, cost planning, bills of quantities, design management, development management, VM, tender evaluation, progress claim, variation assessment & final reporting on a variety of projects & sectors.Starting at Insitu Group, with the establishment of a newly named Estimating & Pre-Construction Department, I have established many processes and systems from project information & resource allocation at tender start , estimating to delivery handover, standardised trade breakdowns throughout the business, a tender review system, peer review, detailed, standardised schedule of rates and a comprehensive cost estimating, bench marking & subcontractor database which allows the business to analyse the department performance and help direct the business direction and growth.My day to day roles involve, working from winning the tender, setting the internal project budget while working side by side with the project delivery team throughout delivery.
