Includes regular on call rotation duties which entails a junior system administration role for major incidents and out of hours calls.

I worked in a joint call center/technician support role. This involved application, email, general query support, troubleshooting and analysing faults and errors. I repaired/replaced hardware components such as RAM, wireless network cards, hard disk drives. Re-imaged and built Windows 7 images onto new or already in service PCs. Performed application administration, worked extensively with the MS Outlook e-mail system too. I dealt with 30 – 40 calls a day (including out calls) covering a wide variety of IT and technical support issues, a lot carried out through remote access and over the phone. Dealt a lot with admin servers such as thin clients and system user maintenance through Windows Active Directory. This involved initial setup, profile configuration, security access, group, and role assignment to users.Worked with network closet troubleshooting. This required patching in port numbers to corresponding power supply slots above the switchboxes. Pinging network connectivity, VLAN address confirmation etc. I carried out daily stock control for hardware support/replacement and worked with external contractors collecting and delivering big orders. I helped roll out the new NIMIS Xray system through testing and installation procedures on close to 400 + PCs and machines throughout the hospital. This was a month long process of resolving underlying issues with older Windows XP machines and re-imaging to windows 7.
