Simon is a professional Operational Delivery Manager with 32 years’ experience in the rail industry. Simon started working for Transport For London as a Guard and has moved forward to this dynamic role implementing numerous innovations and cost saving improvements to projects amounting to several million pounds for the organisation. Simon has focused his career path specifically into operational delivery ensuring the minimal amount of disruption to TfL's Customers where major works are undertaken. Simon has spent most of this time supporting the Station Modernisations . Simon in the recent past spent several years solely focused on delivering the Lift & Escalator Port Folio which covered Replacement of both Lifts & Escalators across London Underground. Simon has also played a key role in supporting the construction of the L&E replacement and refurbishment programme for the future. Simon moved into the LU Crossrail Team in 2014 utilising his skill & professionalism to support the delivery of Farringdon, Liverpool Street and Paddington Crossrail projects and to facilitate the integration of the construction sites via a seamless delivery route into integrated interchange locations, I have recently given a £1m cost saving to Crossrail & TfL by removing one lift from scope by innovating the use of the Fire Fighting lift into Customer use at Farringdon. This shows the dynamic manner I work in, I have High Expectations especially in regard to innovative approaches for works delivery to minimise Customer dis-benefit, to get works delivered in a short sharp shock manner thus big pain but short duration, where this is acceptable, if not we have traditional methods in terms of timely delivery.Now Farringdon, Liverpool Street are now transitioned from construction sites to London Underground ownership. With plans for Trial operations well underway.
