Has evolved from my previous role in Community Supports after it's program closure, to now encompass being the first point of contact disability services. We deal with enquiries about all disability services, supporting customers through the referral process and provide appropriate options and offerings, assessing and processing those referrals in an efficient way.

Involved in the matching of Support staff with the needs of people with a disability to provide supports in home and in the community. Coordinating those supports, liaising with participants and their families to provide a person centred service that meets their needs.

• Coordinate rostering activities for Disability Services staff. Includes replacing vacant shifts in residential support house rosters and allocating shifts for community support service staff utilising available staff and answering rostering enquires.• Providing a main point of contact to staff in relation to the undertaking of rostered shifts. • Arranging staff to cover periods of leave, and other planned/unplanned absences, people we support school/work holidays, Christmas and Easter.• Work in conjunction with Team Leaders to coordinate administration tasks around staff induction, training and recruitment• Developing and reflecting on practices in collaboration with Team Leaders and Senior Manager• Contribute to the growth and development of newly implemented rostering IT systems• Providing information and feedback to the Disability Services teams regarding shift coverage• Overseeing the expenditure of finance administration within the residential houses• Updating and maintaining accurate data in the rostering system• General administrative tasks such as mail outs, photocopying, and data entry etc

Affirming Families is an in-home positive support program that works alongside families who have children with a disability to support them to better understand and support the behaviours of concern that their children present with. After an initial assessment, we work together with the family to develop strategies that support positive behaviour growth. This is achieved by supporting families at the place and time that the behaviours occur.The work requires the ability to work independently while maintaining good team working relationships, along with a good understanding of the needs and behaviours of people with disabilities, both physical and intellectual, as well as the needs of their respective families.
