I have been involved in the commissioning of specialised services for 18 years through its various evolutions from the initial District Health Authority risk share consortiums to the current £14 billion NHSE all enveloping arrangements. During that time I have been involved in all aspects of specialised service commissioning for a multiplicity of different services.I am currently responsible for leading the team managing acute hospital contracts for specialised services and one community hospital across the East of England with a net value in excess of £1000m. Personally manage the contract with the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital having previously managed both Cambridge University Hospital (Addenbrookes) and Papworth Hospital. Responsible for leading the team to ensure service development, pathway reviews and the introduction new drugs/interventions and clinical protocols are undertaken in an efficient and timely manner. Working to ensure smooth and effective transition of specialised service commissioning function to ICS/B in 2023.Member of the Senior Management Team participating in risk management, corporate governance, QIPP Programme Board etc. 2013-2016 - Commissioning lead on the national Clinical Referance Group (CRG) for Complex Invasive Cardiology responsible for the production of associated service specifications, policies, CQUINs and QIPPs.
