I started my working life as a Fabricator for a small sheet metal company in Sheffield, I then moved on into the Structural and special fabrications. Over the years working with many cad systems 2d drawings. I attended evening classes to learn Auto-cad to hopefully open doors in other areas and progress my career in the cleaner environment. I started Employment as a structural detailer for a design and build company, working on StruCAD. As the company progressed into larger projects we took a look at Tekla Structures (Xsteel Version 8 at the time) which was purchased. I moved to another company which supplied and erected steelwork , before joining the Tekla UK team. In 2010 i chose to pursue other areas of the software industry and joined AceCad as EPC Product manager. From here i was heavily involved with linking the softwares to Smartplant3D and CadWORX, as well as aiding with IFC integration. I worked with many EPC's gathering knowledge on the data workflows which they required. Now back with the Tekla Team i work with the interoperability between plant design systems and BIM in Fabrication.
