Responsible for leading a team of legal and investigative professionals covering complex cross-jurisdictional investment banking litigation and contentious regulatory matters, whistleblowing and other internal investigations. Shared responsibility with peers for supporting the ongoing management and strategic development of the broader Litigation, Investigations & Regulatory Affairs department.Providing robust, pragmatic, commercial and practical advice to executive management of the NatWest Group ring-fenced bank and its subsidiaries regarding management of:(1) its worldwide litigation portfolio, a book of varied, complex, and legacy litigation claims, including as to individual case and portfolio strategy, financial planning, regulatory engagement (where required), analysis of trends and lessons learned and general risk management; (2) its worldwide contentious regulatory portfolio, which involved interaction with multiple global regulators and enforcement agencies, including the UK Financial Conduct Authority and counterparts in the Netherlands, the US, the EU and APAC, collaboration with senior stakeholders on the correct strategic approach for the investigation, external engagement, and outcome (including remediation and read-across risk), and most recently included working with a US Department of Justice appointed compliance monitor; and(3) Whistleblowing and other internal investigations covering multiple product areas and various behavioural and conduct-related issues, including collaboration with the group’s Whistleblowing team, executive management, and other internal and external stakeholders Analysing potential future risks from a litigation and contentious regulatory perspective, with a focus on ESG and specifically greenwashing. Taking a leading role in providing greenwashing related legal advice to the group’s internal Risk, Marketing and other functions and delivering technical training across a wide suite of functions within the group.

Managing the NatWest Markets litigation and regulatory investigations portfolio, including providing technical litigation and strategic advice to key senior stakeholders and the business. Managing associated processes such as regular portfolio review, executive reporting, and financial metrics.Managing the remaining Capital Resolution litigation portfolio.

Managing the litigation portfolio of the Capital Resolution division, involving a broad ranging suite of litigation across wind-down businesses and product areas worldwide. Providing strategic litigation advice to key senior stakeholders and businesses to assist business and country exit strategy.Advising on litigation risks associated with the disposal of a wide range of assets.
