Reporting directly to the Managing Director, I hold a senior management role within the company, which is primarily involved in Civil Engineering, ground works, general builders work and scaffolding, with the majority of our work carried out on secure military and government sites.I am responsible for overseeing the provision of effective Health & Safety compliance and for contributing to the wider management of the company.My key responsibilities and duties include: - • Risk identification and management across the organisation• Establishment, auditing and updating of company Integrated Management System (IMS) in accordance with the requirements of ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018• Reviewing pre-construction information (scope, drawings, construction phase plan, environmental plans etc)• Attending and contributing at risk register, pre-commencement, progress and site meetings with clients, principal contractors and other contractors to discuss H&S issues, buildability, programme and risk mitigation• Project managing multiple jobs concurrently and regular reporting to company directors and clients• Ensuring health, safety & environmental legislation knowledge is current & disseminated to staff• Creation and regular reviews of method statements, risk assessments, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Lift Plans etc• Producing and updating Programmes, Plans of the Day (PLOD) and Plans of the Week (PLOW)• Managing operatives and sub-contractors and ensuring knowledge, training and competence records are kept up to date, with further continuous professional development opportunities identified for all staff• Planning and organising resources and paperwork to carry out work in a safe and timely fashion• Ensuring plant & machinery is maintained in accordance with PUWER and LOLER regulations• Site inductions, health & safety site inspections, accident / incident reports, investigations and toolbox talks• Client liaison relating to matters that arise in relation to works, including Technical Query (TQ) submissions and formulating proposals to overcome problems that arise on site• Ensuring company policies and procedures are regularly reviewed for continued suitability• Keeping accurate site records, supporting documentation and photos for project handover • Maintaining appropriate insurance cover and accreditation to relevant safety and compliance bodies
