My work currently involves replenishing shelves and picking customer orders for the delivery service. I used to be a Goods Receiving Assistant in the Goods Receiving department until 2012 when the department was no longer necessary my duties where:• Responsible for checking goods quantities and signing for them once checked, after signing for the goods the correct copy is kept by us and the rest of the paperwork is returned to the driver• Responsible for the security of the department ensuring the department is secure at all times and all protocols regarding deliveries are adhered to• Driving a Counter Balance fork lift truck to unload Heavy Goods Vehicles• Responsible for doing safety checks every day before the vehicle is used• Responsible for ensuring all delivery drivers adhere to health and safety procedures in the goods receiving area• Every week, responsible for loading up stacks of empty pallets onto HGV’s which take them to their respective depots• We take in a variety of temperature controlled goods I am responsible for taking a temperature reading of a sample of the goods and recording the temperature on the appropriate Due Diligence form• Sometimes required to load pallets of goods onto customer vehicles checking all the necessary paperwork is signed and checked by a Manager• Cleaning up any rubbish in the Goods Receiving department to maintain safe working environment and good flow of traffic• Taking phone calls from the various Suppliers/Transport companies (Customer service) and book their deliveries on to the booking in system which is maintained on the Makro database.

1 weeks work experience refurbishing laptops and desktop PC’s using spare parts from donated or collected computers, laptops, monitors etc.• Main duties involved;• Selecting recycled tower or laptop, troubleshooting what needed to be replaced, fitting RAM, hard disk drives, keyboards.• Cleaning of the components, removing dust and dirt,• Testing the components using software provided,• Wiping hard drives ready for windows installation using software provided.
