I have been working in Information Technology for over 35 years in number of roles. During this time, I have gained a varied and wide range of skills in many different technologies.During my career in ICT, I am mindful that there is a need to listen to the business when system changes are required and I act as the interface between the business, at all levels, and ICT. I can propose new systems to develop and improve old or no longer supported systems. I am thorough and produce work of high quality to ensure systems are available around the clock with minimal disruption when updating and/or upgrading.I have the ability to work under pressure in a fast moving environment and prioritise other work when problems occur, where I find a fast and effective way to resolve the issue with a temporary workaround if necessary, then implement a final fix after investigation has been undertaken, enabling the business to continue.I have a very good methodical approach to detecting and analysing faults on PC’s, laptops and server hardware, from a simple software problem, such as an Office reinstall to a more complex fault, such as a hard drive failure. I diagnose and find the best possible approach to fixing a problem without causing too much disruption to the end users, making sure all relevant parties are informed, kept updated and given a resolution time scale. I endeavour to complete every task in a timely manner, with as little disruption as possible.I am able to work using my own initiative and work as a member of the team, supporting colleagues by sharing knowledge to deliver a project or resolving problems. I am proficient and professional in providing technical support and advice and I have an enthusiasm to help and support others with the developing advances in ICT.
