Working on everything from costings, structural design, artwork and prototyping I have seen some exciting projects go from concept to final production. Joining a superb team of experienced designers has created some great collaborative opportunities whilst enjoying a few laughs along the way!

Mostly creating structural designs for cardboard POS and packaging projects, I still enjoy creative design and artworking when required.Since going freelance I have worked with several companies, agencies & print manufacturers, both in-house and remotely, making sure the brief is fulfilled and on time. Alongside my design skills I have also offered advice at director level on production techniques and business strategies.

Creating innovative and cost effective Point Of Sale and packaging solutions from concept through to final production. Drawing up keylines for estimating, prototyping and production as well as graphic design, artworking and pre-press checks. Load testing, checking distribution methods and creating assembly instructions were integral parts of the design process. Operating a digital cutting table and being handy with a glue gun were also key skills when prototyping and refining designs! Regular liaising with production to establish timeframes, construction and fulfilment needs was paramount to success in this fast paced environment.

Managing a team of designers I was responsible for taking and passing on briefs, allocating the workload to meet tight deadlines in a busy studio. Working closely with the sales team leader and production suppliers, I had to ensure that both creative and technical quality was achieved. Designing spec sheets, check lists and other internal communications were all part of the role along with the regular creative design.
