Lead the Executive Team that supports the Trustee of the M&S Pension Scheme (a closed Defined Benefit scheme) which has assets of c. GBP9bn and over 105,000 members. Responsible for overall governance of the Scheme including a focus on Trustee strategy, funding and investment, IRM, longevity hedging, ESG, resource development and diversity and acting as CIO to the Scheme.

Manage the investment arrangements of Group Defined Benefit Pension Schemes (excluding HBOS FSPS), including Lloyds Bank Pension Schemes No1 & No2 and other significant UK and Overseas Schemes (assets of which exceed GBP20bn). Responsible for the investment design, development, implementation and governance of the Group-wide Defined Contribution arrangement "Your Tomorrow" (with over 40,000 active members and assets of GBP2bn). Support Trustees to efficiently and effectively develop their investment and funding strategies.

Responsible for all investment arrangements of the UK pension schemes, primarily The G.E.C. 1972 Plan (assets exceeded GBP4bn) and other DB and DC schemes including AVC and FURBS arrangements. Worked with the investment committee and advisers to develop and maintain the investment and funding strategy for the Plan. Executive support to the Trustee Board when considering the pension implications of a number of significant corporate transactions, culminating in the business being taken private in 2008. Acted as a Trustee Director of four corporate trustee companies.
