I was responsible on a day to day basis for managing workload for the section dealing with Civil Service Injury Benefit Applications (CSIBS) enquiries. Applying policy changes to the procedure and process for Injury Benefit applications and overseeing all application for Health Care referrals to Capita Health Solutions.I was responsible for dealing with difficult cases where members/customers were facing a drop in pay or on nil pay and facing financial difficulties. I was required to deal with members/customers phone calls in a compassionate and confidential manner often in difficult situation where some members/customers were upset or abusive.

I was also responsible for authorising payments to member financially and applying extensions to sick leave. I was also responsible for new starters for members of staff joining the Civil Service Pensions Scheme (PCSPS).Recruiting, training and mentoring of 2 Administrative Officers and the management of the agencies IT Service Desk. The Service Desk was responsible for resolving all IT incidents/ requests where possible, if necessary forwarding to second line support. I was responsible for informing users when IT services were unavailable and any issues affecting them. I was responsible for dealing with incident escalations, this involved liaison with stakeholders, employers, IT support Teams and senior management. I was also responsible to ensure all incidents were priorities to ensure SLA’s were not breached.I was Chairman of the User and IT Support group monthly meetings.I was project manager for the Service Desk software upgrade project and future development of the software.I was administrator of the IT Service Desk phone system.
