Manufacturing Systems Support Engineer
CurrentThis is a highly autonomous role and like the old cliche says no 2 days are ever the same. I am responsible for looking after the product yields on our machines. I can do this by walking around the shop floor and seeing 1st hand or or using SQL dB queries. I then have to resolve the issues causing a reduction in yields which can be anything from powering a PC off then on again or maybe having to build a new PC from scratch. I use microsoft operating systems from Win 2000 right up to Win7 as well as fault finding on various in house program code. I also have to fault find hardware issues in our test cells, which incorporate PC, monitor, camera, scanner, motor controller, I/O blocks and all the associated wiring. Working closely with the shift manager I have to prioritise my work load when I have multiple issues so as to have a minimal effect on shipping.
