Bringing Science and Art together. Conception and realisation of SciMondo.com ‘Artistic Microscopy’ a science/art image sales and supply business established to give me application during my convalescence. Applying several microscopy techniques to image micro slides I create, oblique lighting, light splitters, polarisers, working in the, x, y, and z axis to create spectacular depth of field microphotography. Various wet chemistry techniques used in micro slide preparations, multi compound crystallisation, using ‘scaffold’ compounds and subsequent crystallography, imaging compound interactions and reactions, entomological specimen and whole insect preparation, clearing, and mounting. Images have gained high recognition from the science and art communities, and sold to universities, multi-nationals, music producers, featured by the royal microscopical society, several installations, and work on sale through a major image bank.

Analytical chemist for PAR&D, part of the team that developed rosuvastatin calcium ‘Crestor’, Involvement at early, mid, and late stage development ‘Phase I - III’, through to regulatory submissions. The role required a wide and varied knowledge, a solid problem solving approach, meticulous eye for detail, tangential thinking, and strong scientific/ instrumentation knowledge. Method development, validation, and optimisation, degradation product and impurity identification, tech transfer to manufacturing/QA sites, clinical supply coordination, data collation and reporting, and routine stability batch testing. Working alongside PR&D to develop and refine batch production in the large scale laboratory, working to GMP and regulatory requirements at all times.

Scintillation, Oxidation, Phosphor imaging, trained in post mortem of several species. Human dermal permeability sample prep and testing, and a role in validating HPLC - ‘flow one’ scintillation/ UV dual detection, and fraction collection instrumentation, bulking and preparation of metabolised compound for elucidation, radioactive handling and awareness, first aider, and fire sweeper, working to GLP and regulatory requirements at all times.
