My name is Simon Murray and I have operated in the asset finance and automotive industries for the past 35 years offering customers and partners a professional, honest and consultative relationship.I joined Lombard Motor Finance straight from University before graduating to Lombard Asset Finance and through this my first introduction to Mercedes-Benz funding commercial vehicles. I then joined Mercedes-Benz Finance initially on Commercial Vehicles before changing to Passenger Car. Rejoined Lombard Business Finance for a further period in asset finance as relationship manager and then relationship director dealing with complex and large funding transactions before moving back once again to Mercedes-Benz as Area Manager for Mercedes-Benz Van working with 4 franchised dealer parties in ensuring growth, profitability and target achievement for them. Unfortunately at this time I was diagnosed with tonsil cancer and made the decision with the full support of Mercedes-Benz to join one of the franchised partners Western Commercial as Sales Director as an excellent career progression opportunity and also cut down on travel and time away from home. I spent three years there during some of the most tumultuous periods in the motor trade with Covid lockdowns and numerous knock-on supply issues.Having taken the decision to step away from Western at the end of 2022 I returned to my routes in offering finance solutions through AFS and have just started a new role with Fraikin in Scotland as Key Account Manager, helping manage existing and new accounts to the brand.
