Teaching a course on 'Religion and Mythology in the Viking Age' on the Viking Studies programme, Aarhus University. The course is an introduction to the world view, rituals, and myths of the pre-Christian Nordic world.

In my dissertation I view poetry as ritual. This is done in connection with hall-based oral performances of certain Old Norse, ljóðaháttr poems with a special emphasis on the function of such ritual performances on the performer (or ritual specialist) and audience (or ritual participants).

Kongernes Jelling

Outreach project for lower secondary education students. The project consisted of a poetry slam style competition where students composed and performed poems in Danish following simplified Old Norse poetic diction. Duties included development and employment of teaching material along with judging the performances.

Aarhus, Denmark And Reykholt, Iceland

Full-time research assistantship (while on leave from PhD scholarship) as copy editor to the editors of a six-volume work on pre-Christian Scandinavian religion and mythology. Duties include format editing and managing bibliographies.

Uppsala, Sverige

Full-time research assistantship to the editors of a four-volume work on pre-Christian religion and mythology. Duties include conducting ancillary research, language- and format- editing, and various editorial tasks.

Mentor for international students. Offering practical, social and cultural introduction to student life at Aarhus University and living in Denmark in general.

Part-time (while studying). Teaching the course ‘Originalsprogsopgave i norrønt’ to fourth-semester students during spring semesters. Duties included the planning and carrying out of the full course programme. (Shared responsibilities with one fellow Part-Time Lecturer.)
