Simon Ogbeche Odey is a Professor of Agricultural & Bioresources Engineering. He holds B. Eng., M. Eng. & Ph.D Degrees in Agricultural Engineering, Federal University of Technology, Akure. He also has a diploma certificate in Computer Science. His area of specialization is in Farm Power and Machinery Engineering. He hails from Yabu, Yala LGA, CRS, Nigeria. He was born on May 30, 1970. He is a registered member of the following professional bodies: Nigerian Institution of Agricultural Engineers (NIAE), American Society of Agricultural & Biological Engineers (ASABE), Agricultural Engineering International (CIGR), International Soil Tillage Research Organisation (ISTRO), Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) & registered with Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN). His major areas of research are in Farm Power and Machinery, Soil Tillage Dynamics, Agricultural Products Processing and Storage & Wood Utilization. He is an Associate Professor (Reader) of Farm Power & Machinery (Agricultural & Bioresources Engineering), and currently works in the Department of Wood Products Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Cross River University of Technology, Calabar, Nigeria. He has more than 23 years academic experience in Teaching, Research & Community Service. He has held several academic and administrative positions including Examinations Officer, a two-time Head of Department and currently Sub-Dean of Faculty of Engineering, and also the Deputy Director of Research and Development / Centre of Excellence, CRUTECH, Calabar. He has partaken in the supervision of many PG students and has published more than 50 articles in National and International Journals, Conference Presentations, books and book Chapters, some of which are listed in SCOPUS and others. His major concern among others is finding solutions to the Agricultural & Bioresources Engineering problems to ensure Food Availability, Affordability and Accessibility. Currently serving as an Adjunct Lecturer in the department of Agricultural & Bioresources Engineering, University of Calabar. He is also an External Examiner to the Department of Agricultural and Bio-Environmental Engineering Technology, Faculty of Engineering Technology, Federal College of Agriculture, Ishiagu, Ebonyi State. He is married to Mrs. Comfort Simon Odey, with three lovely children.
